2019 has real potential to be also deemed as an outstanding vintage with wines showing finesse and capability for aging. The growing season was consistent with little in the way of wild temperature swings, heavy rains or drought and the vast majority of the grapes were allowed to reach full phenolic ripeness.
Sweet szamorodni is the little brother of Aszú as it is made of whole bunches of grapes partially infected by botrytis. This wine shows bright pear, dried apricot and candied citrus notes along with some classic botrytis notes such as hay and mushroom.
This wine goes well with cured meat and aged cheese, but also makes a superb match with mushroom and cheese stuffed chicken breast.
