2017 was a classic Tokaj vintage so to speak. Thanks for the warm summer and the moderating influence of the Bodrog river and some summer rain fall. The wines show the typical “Tokaji” minerality and freshness in balance with well-defined fruit characteristics.
Well defined and fresh green apple, nectarine and lime with some very elegant oak notes such as nutmeg and toas. Due to the nature of this wine, it could benefit from a short period of breathing in decanter so it can show more of the harmonious balance between the fresh fruit and the gentle oak.
This is a great wine for schnitzel or slow-roasted pork knuckle.
